I think we're born with the ability to run but it's not necessary for survival then and now.

Great lecture. So many things about us can be explained by evolutionary psychology and evolutionary physiology. We were able to survive and prosper despite the fact that other animals were bigger, stronger and faster than use. A key component was our cooperative nature as pack hunters. Biologist Desmond Morris explains this well in "The Naked Ape". This puts the lie to such BS like Social Darwinism, which has the great man turning in his grave at the misuse of his work.
When we left the savanna of our primate ancestors and became hunter gatherers we abandoned their hierarchical Alpha Beta social structure for a more democratic egalitarian society where all those who took part in the hunt would get their share and have their own mate. The whole concept of Alpha and Beta males was first introduced by a biologist studying wolves who later realized he was wrong and actually tried to get people to abandon this incorrect theory and actually tried to stop publication of his book. He later realized that he was not studying a normal pack but a group who had been from different packs and also just a family dynamic and not a social order. The leaders were not "Alphas" but just parents. But too late, society had already accepted his disproven theory and all the Social Darwinists macho men wanted to hold onto their Alpha male status.
It's good to hear someone like Christopher McDougal try to bring us back to our senses.

Rule number one – don't land on your heels. Knowing this simple fact will make anyone able to run and not have knee and hip/lower back pain.

This is what the US Military is all about – the pack – no grudges – you're not a single person – you're part of a team – a family – a pack – to survive and win win WIN – YOU ACT AS A UNIT. This is why we get torn down – override our habits and replace them pack standards, morals, values, thought processes – 11B US Army Infantry #RockSteady #FortBenning #Infantry — The Military is something that should be mandatory after high school like it is mandatory in countries such as Israel. You don't have to stay in, but it's a choice that each person can make for themselves. When you know what a unit is, what working together can bring to the table and that you're not a single person in a single country but you are a part of a Team that makes our Culture and Society work – Then we push ourselves to greatness. We can get to greatness still, but there are things like socialism that hold us back, I mean socialism as in depending on others – you can't have dependency on anything – it will always lead to conflict – such as in an example… OIL DEPENDENCY from other countries will lead to corruption and War/Conflict. We are divided in the US because of the democrat party pushing socialism – they have been for decades and it goes as deep as corrupting our schools – teachers unions are controlled by the democrat party – the union dues go to the elections for democrats – the democrats push the agendas of what the teachers teach – look at our schools today – they lost an election to President Trump who really is making things amazing in the US but yet there's the left fighting and not even knowing what they are fighting for or against – even though their life really is getting better and so is the entire US. Mandatory Military Service would bring this country together. Where is the proof? LESS THAN 1% OF AMERICANS ARE LIKE ME – LESS THAN 1% OF AMERICANS ARE IN THE US ARMED SERVICES AND WE ARE THE MOST ELITE FORCE THE PLANET EARTH HAS EVER HAD PERIOD. Where does peace come into play? Are you against war? PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH AND WE PRAY EVERY DAY THAT WE DO NOT HAVE TO EVER GO INTO A WAR OR HAVE OUR HANDS FORCED INTO A WAR WITH OUR ALLIES. When the world knows you're the Alpha Country and you will not give in or give up for anything and you're just 1% of the entire US Population of 300+ million people is one thing – now imagine if it was just 80% of Americans in the US Military or with the experience and military knowledge to get called into service if ever needed. This would be a game changer for WORLD PEACE – it would be – WORLD PEACE. Feel free to contact me on here if you want to talk about my thoughts and if you use my story, please let me know but this is written permission to do so. PS The military does not teach you to be a badass or to get a big ego – we are trained for two purposes – number one, which is never talked about – WE ARE TRAINED TO DOMINATE 100% LAND, SEA, AIR, SPACE – AND NUMBER TWO WE ARE TRAINED TO KILL. WE WILL WIN – WIN – WIN AND THAT IS NOT AN OPTION. Does that make us DOGS or BRUTAL – No – it gives us a psychological advantage – We are pushed to what we think our human MAX is – and then we are PUSHED FURTHER AND HARDER AND EVEN FURTHER AND HARDER. When you feel like breaking down and giving up – your body goes into ROBOT MODE – everything you do is not a reaction to stimuli – it is a MUSCLE REFLEX THAT IS FASTER, MORE AGILE, MORE DEMANDING, STRONGER, MORE NIMBLE, MORE ACCURATE – WE ARE AT OUR PEAK OF HUMAN PHYSICAL CONDITION WHEN WE HIT THIS POINT – WE CAN BE SHOT IN THE LEG AND ARM AND STILL PULL THROUGH – WE LEARN TO TRIGGER THIS RESPONSE THAT IS A TRIGGER OF ADRENALINE, DOPAMINE AND OTHER NATURAL CHEMICALS OUR BODY PRODUCES – THIS IS THE SAME MECHANISM CHRISTOPHER MCDOUGALL TALKS ABOUT BUT THINKS NO ONE USES – THE MARATHONER, SHE UTILIZED THIS WITHOUT KNOWING – THE TRIBES, THEY UTILIZE THIS TRIGGER NATURALLY FROM THE DAY THEY ARE BORN WHICH IS WHAT SOCIETY IN WHOLE, HAS NOT DONE FOR A MILLENIA.

Maybe they lived by the sea and ate fish everyday. The fish come to you all you have to do is catch them.

I call bs. I HATE running and it never felt good for me. I've always been in good shape. Nobody running is ever happy. Nobody ever smiles running. Running is directly tied to weight, physics, joints and tolerance of pain. I was born to punch, kick, stretch, jog, walk and jump. Never to run/sprint past age 20.

If anyone remembers Denard Robinson, QB at Michigan several years ago and was drafted by Jacksonville, his nickname was shoelace because he didn’t tie his shoelaces and so it looked like his shoes were going to fall off every time he ran. It looked uncomfortable and suboptimal. Well, he was one of the fastest QBs (and probably players) in the NCAAF and broke a bunch of QB rushing records. It was because he didn’t use tight shoes and he ran more like our ancestors and that Mexican tribe that was discussed in this video. I remember there was a brief documentary (maybe Sports Science) about him and they concluded that by not having conventionally tight shoes/cleats, he had better form when running and his arches were stronger and more suited to running as well.

Its simple really. The Human is a body with a trillion volts in its body. It needs a grounding source. the dirt of the earth is perfect. Inflammation goes out the window. I encourage you to invest and practice these freedoms

  26. 11:00 maybe b4 Christianity we let women run and hunt, how bout that? didnt force anyone to cover their head or feet – & then religion retarded everything, as it tends to in every case objectively: then you have to squint to explain what is MAYBE carrying it w/it (*psst it is big things keeping power over other things). Or Lizards from the 4th dimension made us.
