Oh and also I always bring my phone! And I forgot to say, don’t wear jeans! They’re in the same category as cotton for hiking. Lastly, make sure to have proper trail footwear. They don’t have to be boots, just make sure they have good grip and traction, and that they’re comfortable for you!

Hey!!! Would you mind sharing a little bit of details about the daal, they look so delicious and that’s what I am planning to eat also in my hikes but I am not used to it yet. My plan its to cold soaked rice and lentils but my goal its that they look like yours!! Thanks for sharing and best of luck in the PCT!! 💛

Nice video on how to be prepared for most things that can happen on a day hike. I’m looking forward to your PCT videos. Will you be vlogging daily or doing weekly summaries? Whichever you choose, I’m sure they’ll be fun to watch!

I can't wait to see the PCT videos. Also, if you guys plan to go to Bali let me know and I can help you with that. Actually, my friend can help you to find hotels and can help you to plan the trip. He knows Bali inside out and he worked with tourist there. You can contact him and you guys can talk about it. There is just nothing what he doesn't know about the culture or trails on the island.

Do you have a knife? Matches or lighter, to easily make fire? Being able to fashion a splint or cut material for pressure bandages in an emergency is important. And, if you are trapped or rendered immobile, being able to maintain body heat is imperative. Bandaids for blisters are fine, until there is a real emergency and someone's life is on the line. Can't wait for the PCT! Hehe, Cheers!

Do you carry anything to make fire or filter water, or a knife, for day hikes?

Great video Mari! It gives good insight into what can be needed for hikes. Especially for beginner hikers such as myself 🙂
On a side-note, I would love for you and Nick to do more small series (Like the Camper van renovation) in the future. No doubt the videos for the PCT adventure will be good. In my opinion it is some of your best content 🙂

Hi Mari, thanks for another great video. It looks like a nice place there. It is interesting with what you mentioned about not wearing cotton. I had never considered that before. Did you see a lot of sheep while there? The scenery there reminds me a bit of Toolern Vale Vic here in Australia. I remember years ago, we visited a place where they had a large property with a ride on miniature railway. Outside the property, there were gates, like you had there. Anyway, take care. Robert.
